St. Pete Doctor on the Run in Morocco Arrested on Molestation Charges

U.S. Marshalls in Casablanca have arrested a doctor from St. Petersburg who has been on the run for more than 10 years.

The 58-year-old is accused of child molestation.

He was tracked down in Morocco and is back in a Pinellas County jail awaiting prosecution.

The man was arrested in July of 2000 by the St. Petersburg and Treasure Island police departments on allegations of child molestation between 1994 and 2000.

While awaiting trial on these charges, authorities claim the man fled the United States to avoid prosecution. He allegedly went to Ireland and even changed his name.

Irish police allegedly tracked him down a few years ago, but the man then took off to Morocco. Interpol was apparently able to track him down last year at an apartment in Tangier.
