Pembroke Pines Teacher Accused of Sending Student Inappropriate Texts Pornography

A teacher in Pembroke Pines is accused of sending inappropriate messages to a 14-year-old student.

The 29-year-old man allegedly sent pornography and inappropriate messages to a student at the school, according to reports.

Authorities claim the man took the student’s phone on September 5 while at the school, began texting the student later that day and also asked the student to accept his Instagram request before allegedly sending the teen a pornographic image.

When the student’s mother was notified of the messages, she called authorities.

When confronted by authorities, the man said his messages were “taken out of context,” and that he was acting as the boy’s “big brother,” according to WPLG.

The man was arrested on Monday.

“Sexting” is the term for sending a sexually explicit photo or text message via a mobile phone. In cases where the photo or the target is a minor, it can also be a serious criminal offense.

Depending on the facts of your case, you could be looking at misdemeanor or felony charges. If you are convicted of any sex offense, you will be required to register as a sex offender, and you will be listed on a national database for anyone to access your information.
