Miami Gardens Police Chief Arrested in Prostitution Sting

The chief of police in Miami Gardens has been fired after he was arrested Friday night in a prostitution sting.

According to the Broward County Sheriff’s Office, the 53-year-old responded to an ad for escorts on and agreed to pay $100 for a “two-girl special” at a Dania Beach hotel.

A detective that was posing as a prostitute at the hotel answered the phone when the man allegedly made the phone call. Police claim that during their conversation, the man stated that he wanted to “do everything.”

He was quoted a price of $80 for a 30-minute session. The undercover officer posing as an escort apparently reminded the man about the “two-girl special,” and the man said he was interested and agreed to a price of $100 for two girls, according to the report.

Authorities claim that the man arrived at the agreed-upon room, and produced the $100 in a transaction recorded on video and was arrested.

Deputies said he had two condoms in his pocket at the time of the arrest.

Soon after his arrest, the police department announced he had been fired.

The man was named police chief of the agency last May.
