Man Arrested for Sex Trafficking at Riverview Hotel

A 30-year-old man was arrested Tuesday on charges he forced a woman into prostitution, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.

The man is facing charges of human sex trafficking and false imprisonment, being a felon in possession of a firearm, possession of marijuana and domestic violence battery.

Deputies arrived at the La Quinta Inn on U.S. 301 N on Tuesday afternoon where they believe a 32-year-old woman was being held by the man against her will.

Deputies allegedly found the man locked in a bathroom, holding a .380-caliber semi-automatic pistol close, according to the Sheriff’s Office. While searching the hotel room, deputies claim they uncovered 190 grams of marijuana, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
