Former Cowboy Michael Irvin Accused of Sexual Battery

Former Cowboys wide receiver Michael Irvin is being investigated in the sexual assault of a woman at a Florida hotel.

According to Fort Lauderdale police, the 51-year-old Hall of Famer was named in a sexual-battery report that says the incident took place at a hotel on March 22.

A 27-year-old Florida woman apparently filed a police report alleging she and Irvin went back to his room at a W Hotel after a night out at a bar.

In that report, she claims she started to feel sick and the last thing she remembers is fighting Irvin off. When she woke up, she said Irvin was checking out and she took Uber home. She then called police to tell them she feared she had been drugged and raped.

She was advised to go to a medical lab for a swab and blood test.

Irvin’s lawyer denies the allegations.

This isn’t the first time Irvin has been accused of sexual assault.

In 1996, a woman alleged that she was sexually assaulted by Irvin and his Cowboys teammate Erik Williams. Authorities concluded that her allegations were fabricated, and she later recanted.

In 2007, Irvin was accused of sexual battery by a woman who said he got her drunk and raped her at a Florida hotel. Criminal charges were never filed, but she filed a civil lawsuit in 2010.

Irvin filed a $100 million defamation lawsuit, but that was dropped as part of a settlement in 2011.
