Super Bowl Winner Darren Sharper Enters Plea to Resolve Sex Assault Claims

Former NFL star Darren Sharper has apparently reached a plea agreement that will resolve all sexual assault charges against him.

The move is a “global resolution” to end all claims in all jurisdictions, his lawyer said in court Friday.

Details about the terms of the plea agreement were not released. Sharper is supposed to return to court in Los Angeles on Monday to officially enter a plea.

He is currently under investigation for allegedly assaulting women in Los Angeles and two other cities, and this week he was charged with two counts of sexual assault in Las Vegas stemming from an alleged Jan. 16, 2014, attack on two women, according to reports.

The charges were filed Wednesday and he was arrested. The 39-year-old is currently in custody in Los Angeles.

The Las Vegas charges allege that Sharper drugged and assaulted the women when he knew that they were “mentally or physically incapable of resisting.”

The case was set to be heard Friday in Las Vegas Justice Court, but his attorney asked that the hearing be pushed back until April 3 because he was appearing in court in Los Angeles on separate rape and drug charges.

The Super Bowl-winning player has been jailed for more than a year while investigations continue into the allegations that he assaulted women in Los Angeles, New Orleans, and Tempe, Ariz.
