Palm Beach County Man Accused of Sexually Abusing Disabled Woman

A Jupiter man is accused of forcing a disabled 18-year-old woman to walk around his home naked and send him nude photos as punishment, according to a Palm Beach Sheriff’s arrest report.

Deputies arrested the 45-year-old man in connection with the alleged abuse Tuesday.

Investigators apparently learned of the allegations February 9 when several of the woman’s educators went to authorities, according to reports.

A Department of Children and Families investigator removed the woman from the home and placed her in a group home.

The alleged “punishment” started about a year or two ago when the man started enforcing what he called “house rules,” according to police.

The woman told police that her punishment for lying, not doing her homework, etc. was to walk around the home nude.

She claimed the man would force her to send him nude selfies on an almost daily basis to make sure she was complying with her punishment since he was a truck driver and only home 3 to 5 days a month, according to the report.

Deputies allege the man also wanted the woman to pose naked on a webcam site for money and that he forced her to wear a sex toy during some of her punishment.

The man faces lewd and lascivious battery on a disabled person and crimes against a disabled person charges. He was held in Palm Beach County Jail without bond.

Committing sexual abuse on a mentally defective victim is a very serious felony. Testimony from the alleged victim could be enough to send you away to prison for many years and label you a sex offender for life. In the majority of cases dealing with a crime against a disabled person, an expert is brought in to prove the victim’s mental disease or defect. Simply being accused of a sex crime on a mentally disabled person could mean that you are denied bond and detained for months while awaiting trial.
