Miami Teacher Accused of Having Sex with Student in Broward Airbnb

A 30-year-old biology teacher is facing charges of having sex with one of his students after police say they found them together at an Airbnb apartment.

According to a Wilton Manors Police report, the 14-year-old student’s older sister notified police that her sister was at an Airbnb in Wilton Manors with her teacher.

Police went to the rental apartment and questioned the teacher about the girl and her whereabouts.

He requested to speak with his lawyer on the scene, police said.

The student was apparently found in a bedroom in the apartment, and gave a statement to police that the man was her teacher and that they had been in an ongoing relationship.

Using a search warrant, police allegedly found two boxes of condoms, a used condom, a box of sex toys and the man’s underwear.

The man was arrested Thursday on charges of lewd and lascivious acts on a victim between the ages of 12 and 16. He remains in the Broward County Main Jail as of Friday afternoon.

According to a Miami-Dade school district spokeswoman, the man has been employed by the district for a year and a half. He does not have any disciplinary action.

The district is moving to terminate his employment with the district.
