Police arrested a 49-year-old man on July 2 for allegedly driving naked and masturbating in St. Lucie County.

The man was driving his Jeep Cherokee in Fort Pierce when a tow truck driver pulled up alongside him and apparently witnessed him masturbating.

Police eventually pulled the man over along the side of Interstate 95. According to the arrest report, it took the man a while to stop because he was still trying to get dressed.

Police claim the man could not explain why he was driving nude.

An officer allegedly patted the man down and found a toy pistol tied to his leg, part of which was hidden in his rear. The report indicates that another portion of the contraption was tied around the man’s genitals.

The man was charged with lewd and lascivious behavior and taken to the St. Lucie County Jail.

Lewd and lascivious behavior charges usually involve sexual activity or indecent exposure in a public setting. The following behaviors may result in lewd and lascivious behavior charges:

Having sex inside a car, urinating behind a building or displaying nudity in any public area could result in a criminal charge. A public place is classified as anywhere the act could reasonably be expected to be seen by others. The seriousness of the charge often depends on a variety of factors, including the age of the person or persons who witnessed the activity.
