Florida Sex Crimes Attorney :: Pro Quebec Tennis Player Arrested for Attempting to Have Sex with Minor

Florida officials have arrested professional tennis player Pierre-Ludovic Duclos-Lasnier of Quebec, Canada, for allegedly attempting to have sex with a 13-year-old girl.

The 27-year-old was arrested Thursday. He was  apparently training at IMG Academy in Bradenton.

According to police, a detective assumed the victim’s identity and spoke with Duclos-Lasnier on the victim’s cell phone.

Manatee County authorities claim Duclos-Lasnier solicited the girl for sex and sent her a picture of his penis. He allegedly offered to meet the girl and was arrested once he showed up at the meeting location.

He has been charged with using a computer to solicit a child to commit sex acts, two counts of transmission of harmful material to a minor and attempted lewd and lascivious battery.

He’s being held at the Manatee County Jail without bail.

Throughout Florida, police routinely conduct sting operations in order to catch so-called child predators attempting to have sex with minors. In fact, police will monitor internet chat rooms, social media sites and other various websites in the hopes of catching unsuspecting individuals who might not even be looking for sex with an underage child. Law enforcement officers will even go as far as pretending to be a minor and will engage in online conversations, phone calls and even send text messages in an effort to get individuals to meet at a specific location. Then, they will immediately arrest the person once they show up at the meeting spot. It is important to understand that these detectives are trained professionals and will stop at nothing to put alleged child sex predators behind bars.
