Dade City, FL – A 50-year-old Zephyrhills registered sexual predator was sentenced to two life terms in prison last month for allegedly putting his hands underneath the clothing of a 13-year-old girl.
Pasco County deputies claim the man began fondling the child in the summer of 2009 and that the abuse continued for two years.
The man denied that he molested the child, but was charged last year with lewd and lascivious molestation.
According to a Pasco deputy, the man did admit to being sexually attracted to girls the same age as the victim.
The man was later charged with three additional counts of lewd and lascivious molestation. Last month, a jury convicted him of two counts of lewd and lascivious molestation, and two lesser charges of attempted lewd and lascivious molestation.
On Nov. 30 he was sentenced to life in prison.
The man was previously convicted of child sexual abuse in Pasco County. In 2000, he was found guilty of performing a lewd and lascivious act in the presence of a child younger than 16. He was convicted of three more charges in 2006, including two counts of molesting a child younger than 12 and sexual battery of a child between 12 and 15.
While being charged with any type of sex crime demands the help of a criminal defense lawyer, being accused of lewd and lascivious molestation requires you to immediately consult with a criminal defense attorney. Your rights, future and freedom are on the line, and you could be facing up to 15 years behind bars assuming this is your first sexual offense. If you are convicted of lewd and lascivious molestation on a child under the age of 12, you could be looking at life in prison.
