Man Accused of Raping Spa Employee in Tampa

Police believe a spa employee was attacked Tuesday afternoon by a man posing as a customer.

The accused, a 44-year-old man, was arrested at his home Wednesday afternoon.

Police said the man raped an employee at the Zen Therapy Spa on Lois Avenue, and it was all caught on video.

According to authorities, the man allegedly came into Zen Therapy and asked an employee about prices. Police said he grabbed a piece of candy and began to gag. The employee brought him a bottle of water, but he began to cough again and asked for more.

When the employee left to get more water, police said the man allegedly jumped over the counter, grabbed the employee by the hair, and took out a knife.

At first, the man demanded money, but then apparently demanded the employee take off her clothes, according to the report. That’s when police claim he raped her.

The man reportedly ran off when another customer came in. He is facing felony charges for robbery and sexual assault with a weapon.

The assault was allegedly caught on video.
