Fort Lauderdale Man Accused of Using Many Internet Connections to Transmit Child Porn

Fort Lauderdale police arrested a man they say has been using numerous internet connections throughout the city to transmit images of child pornography.

On Wednesday, the department charged the 47-year-old man with promoting sexual performance by a child, transmission of pornography by an electronic device, and computer pornography.

Detectives worked with the South Florida Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force to make the arrest at the man’s Fort Lauderdale home. Deputies had received tips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children about Lumsden.

Several electronic devices were seized from his home and have been analyzed.

The investigation is apparently ongoing.

Child pornography crimes are prosecuted quite aggressively throughout the U.S. These charges can be charged at the state or federal level, and you can be looking at separate charge for every image you are accused of possessing or transmitting. It is easy for charges to rack up, further enhancing the criminal consequences attached.
