Fort Bragg Soldier Arrested in Polk County on Child Porn Charges

An Army Specialist stationed at Fort Bragg in North Carolina has been arrested on child pornography charges out of Polk County.

The 31-year-old is accused of downloading child pornography at a residence on Fairlane Drive in Lakeland while visiting family earlier this year, according to officials.

Detectives began the investigation in February and served a search warrant, seizing the man’s computer equipment. Detectives allegedly found ten images/videos depicting child porn, including images of children as young as three years old being sexually battered by adults.

Officials claim the man downloaded and made the files available to the public.

The man was arrested Wednesday, June 28th, on charges of 10 counts of child pornography on an outstanding Polk County warrant and is being held at the Cumberland County jail.

The man will be extradited to the Polk County jail at a later date.
