When you are convicted of a sex offense in Florida, one of the consequences is that you may be required to register as sex offender. Depending on the circumstances of your conviction, this label can follow you for years, and possibly for the rest of your life.

The sex offender registry collects the names, photographs, addresses, job information, vehicle information, and other details about convicted sex offenders living in Florida. White it may seem unfair that your personal information is made public due to your conviction, failure to register can result in some stiff consequences, including more time behind bars, revocation of your probation or parole and hefty fines.

If you have been charged with failure to register as a sex offender in Florida, it is important that you don’t just ignore this charge. There may be possible defenses to help your situation, such as you may have thought you were in compliance or there are various circumstances that prevented you from fulfilling the registration requirements.
