Man Accused of Having Sex with Girl in Plantation After Chatting Online

According to an arrest warrant, a 27-year-old man made plans on Christmas Day to meet a teenage girl for sex at her Plantation home while her parents were away.

Police claim the pair met online and exchanged more than 3,700 messages.

The girl, then 15, and the Miami man apparently met on the social networking app Badoo. After chatting for a month, they met for sex, according to authorities.

The teen’s mother reported the sex act to detectives four days after it occurred, according to reports. The mother said she became aware of her daughter’s sexual relationship with the man when text messages sent from the man were accidentally forwarded to her from her daughter’s cellphone.

Court records show that after about a month of communicating online, the man and the girl made plans on Christmas Day to meet at her Plantation home.

He allegedly showed up at her house shortly before 3 a.m. Dec. 26 and left before 8:15 a.m., according to a transcript of text exchanges between the two in the arrest warrant.

The man is also accused of sending the teen nude photos of himself.

The girl sent the man several nude photos, according to the warrant.

The man is charged with four counts of lewd or lascivious battery, using a computer to seduce, solicit or lure a child, transmitting information harmful to minors and using or allowing a child to engage in sex.

He was arrested Friday and was being held without bond in the Broward County Jail.

If you have been arrested for soliciting a minor online or if you believe you are the target of an investigation that is similar in nature to solicitation charges, you need a criminal lawyer on your side who can defend your rights and protect your reputation. In addition to facing jail time and fines, a conviction for a sex crime involving a minor will place your name on the sex offender registry. This will allow all potential employers, neighbors, etc. to know about your conviction, and registration will also impact where you are able to live.
